The QLD Building Services Authority requires all persons seeking to apply for an Owner-Builder Permit to complete this course where the total commercial value of works (labour and materials, inc. GST) exceeds $11,000.
Upon satisfactory completion of this course, students will receive a Nationally Recognised "Statement of Attainment" and will be able to apply to the QLD Building Services Authority for their owner-builder permit.
Any person with a relevant BSA licence may be eligible for exemption to doing this course. Please contact the QLD BSA to find out if you qualify for exemption.

- Plan an owner builder construction project;
- Prepare drawings and identify materials;
- Estimate costs and evaluate fund sources;
- Identify statutory requirements relevant to the obligations of the owner builder;
- Develop strategies to support the administration of an owner builder project;
- Develop strategies for monitoring and controlling on-site activities of an O.B. Project;

If the value of work (labour and materials, inc. GST) exceeds $20,000., you MUST provide evidence (OUR Certificate) to the WA Building Commision if you wish to apply for your Owner-Builder Permit.
Upon satisfactory completion of this course, students will receive a "Certificate" and will be able to apply to the WA Building Commission for their owner-builder permit.

This course is an induction course designed as a preparatory program prior to commencement of construction work as part of compliance within the statutory requirements of the Queensland Workplace Health & Safety Act 1995.
NSW, SA, WA, VIC & QLD all have reciprocal acceptance of their respective Construction Induction Certificates.
Under each states mutual recognition agreement, any persons who hold a White Card can use this card in any of the other states mentioned above.
The course includes basic Risk Management concepts, Safe Work Practices and an insight into Workplace/Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Common Law.
Topics covered include –
- OHS Legislative Requirements;
- Construction hazards and control measures;
- OHS communication and reporting processes;
- OHS incident response procedures;
You MUST complete the induction BEFORE construction work commences as there is no provision under the legislation to complete it after work has begun.
Failure to hold or show evidence of your White Card Induction training can result in severe penalties to principal contractors, employers or persons deemed as workers who undertake construction work.
