About Us About Us Personally: Peter McCabe is a TAFE lecturer and qualified carpenter and builder (NSW builders licence # 133677C; QLD builders licence # 1148383) who holds over 14 years of experience in the building industry. Peter’s most recent career highlight has been volunteering his past 4 summers (totalling well over 12 months of his own time) in restoring Mawson’s Hut in the Antarctic. Peter’s primary role was that of field leader and expedition carpenter. Throughout this project his primary responsibilities were to provide daily reports and on site team management and act as media liaison as well as designing and constructing a remote field hut for the site within a strict time frame that would serve as a living quarters for future parties at the windiest valley on earth. This project also involved his expertise for the external and internal construction of new and existing buildings using various design techniques customised to withhold extreme temperatures. His qualifications include: Cert IV in Training & Assessment Trade Certificate in Carpentry/Joinery Certificate 4 in Residential Building Construction (with distinction) Certificate 3 in Carpentry/Joinery (credit level) Certificate 1 & 2 in Carpentry/Joinery Pre-Apprenticeship (Award of Excellence) Also since early 2009, Peter has been lecturing a course in General Construction (Trade Entry) at TAFE. This course allows people seeking entry into the general construction industry, primarily in the carpentry and bricklaying trades. Peter Berginc is a qualified Trainer & Assessor with over 10 years experience in the building industry and over 10 years experience delivering owner-builder training to students all over Australia. Peter was the first provider in Australia to develop a website where students could enrol online and sit their assessment online as well. This allowed the convenience for students that were in remote areas the ability to complete their course entirely from home. The website, designed and built by Peter is the face of ABSOLUTE Education. Due to strict changes in training across Australia, Peter started ABSOLUTE Education and became a fully qualified Registered Trainign Organisation (provider # 91521). He is proud to say that he did it all on his own and specialises in delivering online owner-builder and construction training.
